Nielsen Announces 2009 Winners of the First-Ever CLIO Healthcare Awards.

CLIOTonight when you get home from work and switch on the network evening news, some of the flood of healthcare ads you will see may be award winners. The Nielsen Company and the CLIO Awards today announced the winners of the first-ever CLIO Healthcare Awards in all categories.

The CLIO Healthcare Awards is an extension of The CLIO Awards, one of the world’s most recognized awards competitions for advertising, design and interactive, which celebrated its 50th Anniversary in 2009.

In announcing the awards it was noted that healthcare accounts for more than one-third of the U.S. gross national product. It has become one of the most visible sectors of advertising, promotion and creative design in the last few years, particularly on TV and online. However, it is regulated differently and more stringently than traditional advertising and promotion. So, the CLIO Healthcare Awards is an attempt to level the playing field and enable this category of advertising to be judged more fairly and appropriately.
