CIGNA (NYSE: CI) has announced a new website for insurance brokers who sell health benefit plans to companies with 50 to 250 employees. The site features an industry-leading funding selection tool to help brokers determine which health plan funding option will best fit their clients’ needs. In addition, the site also offers the latest information on products and continuing education courses.
CIGNA’s funding selection tool allows brokers to answer a series of questions, such as whether a client would prefer a consistent monthly payment obligation for budget planning purposes and whether their client is considering the implementation of a wellness program. Once a broker completes the questionnaire, they are directed to learn about the funding option that best fits their client’s needs. CIGNA offers a variety of insured and self-insured funding options, including the level-funding option.
The broker can then access detailed information and the benefits of each funding option and then utilize the quote tools and tips available on the website.
“Small businesses deal with unique challenges when looking at benefit plans and costs and we expect this website to be a one-stop resource for our broker partners who work with them,” said Kurt Weimer, president, CIGNA Select Segment.
In addition, through CIGNA’s alliance with Continuing Education University (CEU), the new website now offers free, online courses, such as, Ethics and the Insurance Industry and Introduction to Health Savings Accounts. “The Academy by CIGNA” is also available, providing brokers and consultants with support around setting career goals and how to increase credibility through professional development.
“Whether a broker needs help with quotes, finding the right solution to meet a client’s specific needs or wants to further his or her education, this online tool offers ideas and information on how to help reduce costs and positively impact the health,” said Weimer.
